BAKER COUNTY – The Baker County Library District which includes branches in Baker City, Haines, Halfway, Huntington, Richland and Sumpter, are available as extreme heat cooling centers during regular business hours, according to the district.
Information from Perry Stokes, Library Director at the Baker County Library reminds everyone that libraries are a perfect place to stay cool with strong AC systems and powerful air purification units, comfortable seating, water fountain and bottle fill station, clean restrooms, unlimited free Wi-Fi, and plenty of books, magazines, newspapers and more to browse.
