Freedom Festival will not be rescheduled

COLLEGE PLACE – The city of College Place will not reschedule this year’s Freedom Festival at College Place High School. The event, originally scheduled this past Sunday, was cancelled due to the extreme heat. It was to feature local vendors, food trucks, live music, a kid’s zone and grand finale fireworks show.

Mayor Norma Hernandez said as the region deals with this heat it is best the city not set off fireworks.

The city is refunding vendor fees and speaking with sponsors to see whether they would like to transfer their support to another event.

“Hopefully, we can do something to enhance the Fall Festival in October,” Hernandez said.
