SALEM – The Oregon Health Authority is suspending COVID-19 capacity limits at swimming pools, movie theaters, and shopping malls effective immediately. The move comes as the heat wave threatens record highs this weekend.
Capacity limits at cooling centers and on public transit were already suspended earlier today in light of the forecast.
The OHA has also established a web page to help people know the precautions to take in extremely hot weather, which is expected to last until Thursday night at the earliest. The web page is https://www.oregon.gov/oha/ph/preparedness/prepare/pages/prepareforextremeheat.aspx?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery.
