PENDLETON – There’s a heat wave underway, but the Umatilla County Board of Commissioners turned its attention back to winter at its administrative meeting this week.
“We discovered last winter that we were very ill prepared to handle the snow,” Chairman George Murdock said. “We have to be very cognizant of making sure that we provide for the safety of our employees and the public.”
Murdock said that most of the equipment can do more than snow removal, performing landscaping work as well.
“The list includes a compact tractor that can do landscape and snow removal, a snow blower, a compact truck loader, a pawl package, plus a spreader,” he said.
