PENDLETON – Grammy-nominated Billy Currington will be the headliner of the Round-Up & Happy Canyon Concert, that kicks off a week of action on Sat., Sept. 11. Tickets will go on sale June 24 at 10 a.m.

Currington has racked up 11 number one singles, capped by his most recent hit, “Don’t Hurt Like It Used To.” A native of Georgia, Currington has spent more than a decade in the spotlight. Other top hits include “Good Directions,” “Let Me Down Easy,” “Must Be Doin’ Somthin’ Right,” and “We Are Tonight.”

He has won Grammy nominations for Male Country Performance of the Year, Best Country Song for “People Are Crazy,” and has also received single of the  year and song of the year nominations from the Country Music Association for that same song.

“Music is a snapshot of people’s lives and most of all I want to leave people in a happy place,” he said of his latest album, “Summer Forever.” “Whether they’re sitting on a beach listening to this album or they’re walking around  their house, or cleaning their house, or whatever. Wherever they’re at listening to this album, I want to leave them with a happy and peaceful feeling.”

Happy Canyon President Tanner Hawkins played on one of Currington’s hit single when he explained why the artist is a great choice after the pandemic hiatus in 2020.

“’People Are Crazy’ if they don’t take the opportunity to snag tickets to this concert,” he said. “We know he’ll bring energy and enthusiasm to the stage and get everyone excited for what will be an amazing week in Pendleton.”

Round-Up President Randy Bracher agreed.

“Billy Currington has a great combination of high energy crowd pleasers and relatable ballads that will connect with so many different people,” he said. “He’s a great fit to kick off the week after such a crazy year.”

Tickets range in price from $46 to $150. Once they go on sale Thursday, June 24 at 10 a.m. they can be reserved on the Pendleton Round-Up website or by calling 541-612-3421.
