Accident causes death of newspaper carrier

WALLA WALLA – A man riding a moped to deliver newspapers was killed Sunday morning in an apparent collision.
The Walla Walla Police Department and Washington State Patrol responded to the 300 block of Howard Street at 4:24 a.m. and found Danny M. Davis, 65, deceased in the roadway.
“The satchel he used to carry newspapers caught in the rear wheel causing the moped to flip,” WSP Trooper Chris Thorson said.
Davis was thrown from the moped and hit his head on the concrete. He was not wearing a helmet.
