UMATILLA COUNTY – Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife wolf depredation investigators confirm that the OR-30 wolves in Umatilla County killed two lambs and injured two others on Wednesday in a large, timbered private pasture.

A herding dog was also injured, but investigators were unable to determine if that injury was due to wolves.

All of the lambs showed signs associated with wolf depredation including bite marks, and pre-mortem wounds on the hindquarters. The injured lambs also had wounds on their necks and exhibited labored breathing.

The injured herding dog had a one-inch tear in the hide with some fresh blood in the armpit of the right front leg. No swelling, limping, or other wounds were observed.
