PENDLETON – A Pendleton man with an outstanding Union County arrest warrant is now facing additional charges for resisting arrest. A Pendleton patrol officer observed Conner A. Fry, 27, in the parking lot of Motel 6 on Tutuilla Road and determined there was a felony warrant for his arrest from the Union County Parole Board.
When the officer approached Fry and told him he was under arrest, the suspect became combative with the officer and fled on foot. The officer caught up with him a short distance away.
“Fry continued to resist arrest and at one point punched the officer in the face with a closed fist,” Police Chief Chuck Byram wrote in a news release. “The officer sustained a minor injury to his left cheek/eye area that did not require medical treatment.”
The officer managed to subdue Fry and take him into custody. He is now lodged at the Umatilla County Jail. There is one count of a felony in-state hold with no bail on Fry. He is also charged with felony aggravated assault of a public safety officer, first-degree escape, misdemeanor resisting arrest, and misdemeanor interfering with a police officer.
