Council to consider 2021-22 budget

PENDLETON – The Pendleton City Council holds a public hearing and votes on a budget for the new fiscal year at its meeting at 7 p.m. today (Tuesday). The total for all funds is $105,148,970. The general fund totals $20,257,780.
There will also be a public hearing on a change to the city’s unified development code and comprehensive plan to bring it into agreement with state law. The Oregon Legislature has enacted the requirement that duplexes be allowed in medium-size city zones that have been previously for single-family dwellings.
Under new business, the council will hear a staff report and recommendation for the street light LED conversion project. The council will also vote on awarding the water filtration plant tank reporting project to Hancock Sandblast & Paint of Pasco for $342,699.
Immediately prior to the council meeting, the Pendleton Development Commission is holding a special meeting to review and approve bids for this summer’s street reconstruction within the urban growth boundary. Nelson Construction of Walla Walla was the low bidder for $1,267,981.44.
