WALLA WALLA – There are a number of road projects underway in Walla Walla, including Myra Road and Sturm Avenue, not to mention the State Route 125/Plaza Way project.
The work to upgrade traffic lights at the intersections of Myra Road and Poplar Street and Myra and Electric Avenue is being done between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. Lights will work during the day. At night, motorists can expect periodic lane closures and four-way stops. Emergency vehicles will have access.
Water is shut off to an estimated 88 homes today as part of the Sturm Avenue water main replacement project. Workers went door-to-door to notify residents. In addition, Bryant Avenue between Sturm and Wilbur will be closed today until 5:30 p.m. A detour will be in place.
Work on the SR 125/Plaza Way project focuses on Plaza Way between Tietan Street and State Route 125. Crews will be doing electrical work, relocating several hydrants, and working on storm sewers. The work will all be done from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. through Friday morning to minimize the impact on businesses and commuters.
