WA schools COVID update

WALLA WALLA – Elementary and middle school students in the Walla Walla school district begin full-time, in-person instruction today (Monday). High school students will remain in the AM/PM hybrid model until the end of the school year.

In order to meet COVID-19 requirements, Walla Walla Public Schools has purchased 25 20-by-30 foot tents for meals as well as outdoor instruction opportunities. Slight changes have also been made to pick-up and drop-off times. Parents should visit Traversa Ride 360 for the new times.

COLLEGE PLACE – College Place students at all grade levels return to school full time today (Monday). Students will be offered a hot lunch and all meals are free through the end of the school year.

Grab-and-go meals are still available for all students registered for remote learning only. They can be picked up at the high school/middle school from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

TRI-CITIES – An estimated 80 Hanford High School students are in quarantine after coming into close contact at the school with someone who tested positive for COVID-19. The district’s dashboard reflects that four students have tested positive. COVID-19 is also causing problems at other schools in the region. It’s reported that some classrooms have been closed at elementary, middle, and high schools.
