PENDLETON – Tyler Schachtsick, 32, of Pendleton, is due to appear in court today (Wednesday). He and three others are alleged to have robbed, assaulted, and kidnapped a man late last month.

“The facts and circumstances surrounding this case are egregious, are violent and the case is kind of an eye opener when you live this community,” Primus said.

The other three suspects also have preliminary court dates set. They are Whitney Anderson, 26, of Pendleton on April 27, Anthony Haigh, 26, of Stanfield on May 4, and Deva Marthaller, 25, of Pendleton on May 7. Schachtsick and Anderson were arrested March 30 in Pendleton. Haigh and Marthaller were found by the Walla Walla Police Department and were extradited last week.

“All four share seven charges,” Primus said. “Robbery in the first degree, robbery in the second degree, kidnap in the second degree, assault in the third degree, theft one, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and menacing.”

Other charges are also being brought against each suspect. According to the Umatilla County Jail roster, bail amounts range from $1,115,000 for Schachtsick to $275,000 for Haigh.
