Council to award bids on various projects

WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla City Council meets at 6:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) and the consent agenda includes bid awards for a number of projects as the city gets in gear with the spring and summer construction season.

Bid awards are anticipated for the Lowden Street sidewalk improvement project to Nelson Construction; the purchase of an emergency supply of aggregate materials from Humbert Asphalt; and a bid from Sharpe & Prezler Construction for stormwater improvements.

In addition the council will authorize City Manager Nabiel Shawa to award a bid for construction of the Rose Street Bridge in an amount not to exceed $4,535,080. Further the council will vote on removing angled parking on Park Street.
