KENNEWICK – Officers from the Kennewick Police Department are asking the public to step forward if they have any information regarding shots being fired from a vehicle on the 600 block of North Tweedt Street Tuesday night.

Officers responded to several reports of shots being fired from a red or maroon SUV that had then fled the scene. An area canvass was conducted and there was at least one vehicle that was damaged. No other property damage was found immediately and there were no reported injuries.

Surveillance footage showed the suspect vehicle leaving the area. The Pasco Police Department located the SUV abandoned there. It has been impounded and a search warrant will be obtained and executed in an attempt to identify the suspect or suspects.

“This incident is believed to be an isolated incident and we do not believe the public is in any danger,” Lt. Aaron Clem wrote in the incident report. “This incident is still an active investigation and we are asking for anyone who has any information about this incident to contact us immediately. We are also asking that if you live in that area and had any property damaged during this incident to contact us so that you can be added to the report.” KPD can be contacted at 509-628-0333.
