ICE removes convicted sexual predator

SEATTLE – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers have removed a Mexican national from the United States. Juan Manuel Enriquez-Martinez, 40, has been convicted of sex crimes in both Oregon and Washington.

He was convicted in 2016 in Klickitat County of child molestation in the first degree, and was sentenced to 68 months in prison. Enriquez-Martinez had already served time for a 2015 crime in Wasco County, where he was convicted of attempted sexual penetration and attempted first-degree sexual abuse.

ICE lodged a detainer on Enriquez-Martinez with the Federal Correction Institute in Sheldon in 2016. Last month, the Washington Department of Corrections transferred custody of Enrique-Martinez to ICE.

He was ordered to be removed to Mexico, and that was carried out last week. He was transported out of the country on an ICE Air Operations charter flight and was transferred to the custody of Mexican authorities.
