District 30 State Senator Lynn Findley released a newsletter today regarding the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan. Findley wrote the plan will provide more than $4 billion to Oregon, including more than $69 million for District 30. Counties and local governments will have the authority and responsibility to allocate these funds and they are required to report the use of the funds to the Treasury Department so that there is accountability and transparency in how these dollars are used. The funds can only be used to provide relief specific to COVID-19 impacts. Estimated amounts for four of the District 30 counties are Harney County $1.43 million, Grant County $1.4 million, Lake County $1.53 million, and Malheur County $5.93 million. The city of Burns is expected to receive $569,512 and the city of Hines $314,923.
