Green returns to BMCC for now

PENDLETON – The Blue Mountain Community College Board of Directors has named Connie Green interim president at BMCC. She will begin her duties on March 1. Until then, Vice President of Instruction John Fields will continue as acting president.

The lead post at the college was left vacant when President Dennis Bailey-Fougnier announced his retirement for health reasons earlier this month.

Green is returning in the interim president role. She led BMCC from November 2018 through April 2019. Green retired as president of Tillamook Bay Community College in 2017.

“We are so pleased that Dr. Green is coming back to BMCC during this transition phase,” Board Chair Jane Hill stated in a prepared release. “The faculty, staff, students and board will be at an advantage because she will hit the ground running.”

Under her leadership, key issues the college will continue to address include budget, organization, communication, and decreased enrollment.
