UNION, OR – The Friends of the Historic Union Community Hall recently held an online auction to raise funds to purchase the Old Methodist Church building in Union. The auction event raised over $7,000 in donations from Union County Businesses, artists, and individuals, with a dollar for dollar match. To date including the auction donations the total raised is $30,000. Closing of the building will be at the end of February.
The Non-profit is focused on serving not only Union but all of the surrounding area. The “Friends” will be offering opportunities for rentals for special events, as well as working with local partners to provide space for a food pantry, community meals, support groups, clinics, and making community programs much more accessible to South County residents.
