Your ideas count in creating more housing

LA GRANDE – With a limited amount of participants, the City of La Grande held a virtual meeting Wednesday night discussing the need and strategies to encourage the development of new housing. Many strategies were presented by the consultants which are actively being implemented in other communities in Oregon and elsewhere. Some of them may be difficult for La Grande to implements as they would require hiring additional staff to administer (e.g. creating a housing program that offers services), while others would be easier to implement such as changing some of our codes to accommodate a wider range of housing types within the City.
