HINES – At around 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, the Hines Volunteer Fire Department and law enforcement responded to a report of a pickup on fire on Highway 20 West near milepost 125, just west of the Bureau of Land Management offices. The fire department reported the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames and both lanes of the highway were closed as the flames were spreading across the highway. The driver of the vehicle, Matthew Steven O’Neill, 42, of Burns, was able to get out of the vehicle and was not injured. The fire was secured about 20 minutes later.
