WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla City Council holds a work session at 4 p.m. today (Monday). The first item on the agenda is a discussion about public outreach for the Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Avenue bridges. The city is proposing two of the bridges be eliminated.
The council members will also hear a presentation on a nuclear weapons ban resolution that was approved by the United Nations last month. The presenter will be Whitman College Professor Patrick Henry. The council will discuss whether they should stick to positions on issues over which they have no control or authority.
City Manager Nabiel Shawa will talk to the council about progress made on the Range Amphitheater project. Shawa said there is still hope there could be a couple of concerts towards the end of this summer. City staff will review the status of the project, as well as plans for 2021 and the future.
The meeting is streamed live on the city’s website.
