WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla Major Crimes detectives launched an investigation into a potential sex crime in 2020 that resulted in the arrest of a Walla Walla man Tuesday. Timothy Lee Palmer, 63, was picked up at a motel on Melrose Street.
This month, WWPD detectives and a detective from outside the area obtained enough information to be granted a search warrant to a house on Hobson Street for possible child pornography. During the search of the residence, detectives located a substantial amount of child pornography and gained information regarding the sexual assault of a child. During an interview with law enforcement, WWPD reports that Palmer admitted to viewing pornography and for having sexual relations with the young victim.
Palmer has probable-cause charges lodged against him for first-degree rape of a child, first-degree child molestation, distribution of obscene depictions of a minor engaged in sexual conduct, and possessing depictions of a minor engaged in sexual conduct.
He is lodged in Walla Walla County Jail with bail set at $75,000.
