EASTERN OREGON – The NAIA released its fourth set of the top-20 rankings for the 2020-21 men’s wrestling season on Thursday morning. Eastern Oregon University finds its self in the receiving vote’s category this week.
The Mountaineers now rank at what would be 23rd after receiving 33 points in the poll. This marks the first time this season that EOU has fallen into the receiving vote’s category after being ranked No. 20 in the last set of rankings.
Despite the slip in the team rankings, Eastern still has three grapplers ranked in the top-20 for their respective weight classes. Keegan Mulhill ranks seventh at 174 pounds, as does Noel Orozco at 285 pounds. Marco Retano rounds out the trio at No. 16 for 197 pounds.
Out of the CCC, seven other teams are still garnering recognition in the national poll. Arizona Christian leads the charge at No. 18, followed by Montana State-Northern at No. 20. Vanguard (Calif.), Providence (Mont.), Southern Oregon, Simpson (Calif.), and Corban (Ore.) all sit in the receiving vote’s category with EOU.
