Teens arrested for robbery and more

PENDLETON — The following is a news release from the Pendleton Police Department:
January 21, 2021 at 1:47 a.m., Pendleton Police Department personnel were dispatched to the 900 block of SE Court Avenue after receiving a report from an adult victim male that he had just been attacked and robbed by two unknown males. Officers responded and contacted the victim. Statements obtained from the victim included descriptors of the two suspects involved. The victim male reported being punched, but did not require medical attention. According to the victim male, the suspect(s) demanded the victim’s personal property, to include his wallet and cellphone. No reported weapons were displayed. Property belonging to the victim male was taken by the suspect(s), by force.
While officers were interviewing the victim and checking the area for the suspect(s), other officers were dispatched to the area of SE 17th Street and SE Alexander Avenue regarding a report of two males attempting to break into vehicles. Officers arrived in the area, located the described individuals, engaged in a short foot pursuit with one, and ended up detaining both on suspicion of Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle and Theft. During the course of that investigation, property belonging to the victim of the assault and robbery was located on one of the suspects. The two suspect(s) were also in possession of numerous pieces of suspected stolen property from neighborhood vehicles. The two suspects were arrested and lodged at the Umatilla County Jail on suspicion of Robbery II, Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle (X3), Theft III (X2), Theft II, Criminal Trespass II and Conspiracy. Arrested were:
- Joseph Michael Peek, 18 years of age, Puyallup, Washington address
- Habukkuk Adebu Thompkins, 19 years of age, Pendleton, Oregon address
