JOHN DAY – Grant School District #3’s Facility Manager Dustin Wilson was on KJDY’s Coffee Time Tuesday morning, along with Project Manager Aaron Lieuallen, to discuss capital improvement projects within the district.
Lieuallen said they’ve been busy, they’ll continue to be busy, and they’re about halfway to completion:
“There’s a lot of work going on. You know we’re probably in the neighborhood of around 20 projects. About half of those are active, and about half of those have been completed. The district’s made an investment in the neighborhood of around 8 million dollars into their facilities. The nice thing is the majority of that is grant funded. It’s a neat opportunity for the district to do some neat things for some of these, but also some necessary things to the building.”
Some of the new improvements include new HVAC systems, a student common area in the high school, a new greenhouse at the elementary school, updates to security, a maintenance building, and more.
