75th Annual Farmer Merchant Banquet Award Recipients

LA GRANDE – The 75th Annual Farmer Merchant Banquet was held in La Grande earlier this week and among the festivities was the announcement of several awards. This year’s event was themed “Country at Heart” and included food and a silent auction.

Awards were handed out in the following categories:

Forest Steward of the Year: Justin Shaffer – J&J Logging

Young Farmer of the Year: Lukus Gray

Ecological Restoration Award: Lee Ricker – R6 Contracting, Inc.

Good Steward Award: Greg Williams

Good Steward Award: Dora Boyd Chen

Ag Woman of the Year: Cheryl Murchison

Cattleman of the Year: Jake Bingham – Bingham Beef North Powder

Conservation Farm of the Year: SEED2CROP

Distinguished Service to Union County Agriculture: Donna Beverage
