LA GRANDE – Thanks to the generosity of our community, two annual events held by us here at Elkhorn Media Group were once again a success.

Our Annual Elkhorn Media Group Food Drive in partnership with Goss Motors in downtown La Grande began on November 25 and culminated with our Holiday Open House last Friday, December 16th at Goss Motors.  This fun event allowed patrons to stop by and drop off donations while enjoying cookies donated by Joe Beans, and hot beverages by The Local.  Randy and Michelle Willson were on hand doing a wine tasting and Blossom, Union County’s new victim advocate K9 was on hand for a meet and greet as well.

Throughout the donation period, we were able to fill two full GMC Pickups and partially fill another, which equaled roughly eight pallets of food and non-perishable items that we were able to donate to the Union County Food Bank.  In addition to item donations, many local businesses and individuals make monetary donations, which totaled $3470.

Our Elkhorn Media Group Toy Drive began in mid-November and citizens were asked to donate new/unwrapped toys for children ages 0 to 18 years old.

This annual event is in partnership with:

•Les Schwab Tire Center in La Grande, who accepted donations, delivered toys for distribution and purchased over $700 in needed items once all donations were gathered.

•Ed Staub and Sons, who accepted donations

•Carpet One Floor & Home, who accepted donations and delivered toys for distribution

•Paul Swigert- Country Financial, who accepted donations

•Varies community organizations that assist families and individuals in needIn total, the toy drive was able to provide gifts for over 60 families in the area.
