WALLA WALLA – The Washington State Department of Corrections confirms that one incarcerated individual was treated for minor injuries following a brawl at the Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla.
It happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Golf Unit West Dayroom. Correctional officers responded and gave multiple directives for six maximum-security incarcerated individuals to stop fighting.
All directives were ignored, and pepper spray was used to gain compliance. Once the fighting stopped, all involved were restrained and escorted to holding cells. None of the staff were injured.
