4th Street repair project encounters setback

JOHN DAY – John Day Mayor Ron Lundbom popped in the studio recently for a visit. He mentioned the 4th Street repair project going up to the airport has been put on hold for a year:
“The people we hired to do the engineering work for the 4th Street repair forgot to apply for permits to get in the creek. So, long story short, those people don’t work for us [any] more, they refunded the money that they accepted for that work. We’ve been assured that we’ll get the thing going next summer, and that we’ll get that fixed next summer.”
