ELGIN – Recently the Elgin Lions Club spent some time at a local business in Elgin collecting food and other items for the local food bank.
According to Gerald Hopkins, in 5 ½ hours the group was able to collect a total of 498 pounds of items that will be donated.
Hopkins says “This was a good day for the Food Bank. We had a lot of help from our Lion members.”
