JOHN DAY – Approximately forty kids ages 12 and under, along with their parents and grandparents, took part in this year’s Kids Day Parade.

First place in the Family & Friends division went to Shylah, Briar, Arden and Macoy DesJardin of John Day. First place in the Organization division went to Cub Scout Pack 898. First place in the Decorated Vehicle division went to a child whose name cannot be released. And a special award went to the Kilpatrick Clan for traveling the longest distance.

There were twelve kids with one youth visiting from Quito (KEY-toe), Ecuador in South America. The Kids Day Parade has been a decades long tradition of the Grant County Fair and is aimed at giving kids who don’t have exhibits a chance to be a part of fair. KJDY and John Day Dairy Queen have been sponsors for most of those years.
