GRANT COUNTY – Students won’t be going hungry over spring break. The Backpack Program is funded by Eastern Oregon Coordinated Care as part of the SHARE Grant, and it allowed for each student, K-12 in Grant County, to receive a bag containing 3 pounds of food. The effort was coordinated by 30 volunteers, who put together 1,000 bags of food.
Volunteers ask that if your household received food and does not need or want it, to kindly give it to another family in need, or donate it to either the Grant County Food Pantry or the Helping Hands Food Pantry at the John Day Methodist Church.
