$26,000 in awards handed out by Soroptimist International of La Grande recently

LA GRANDE – Soroptimist International of La Grande has presented several scholarships recently to local, deserving young women.

A total of $10,000 was given to three Union County High School students for education funding. The recipients, Dallee Bingham, Zoe Brown, and Marissa Lane were each given $3500.

A total of $10,000 was given to two young women who are continuing their educations. Both Felicity Houston and Taylor Friederichs received $5000 each.

And a total of $6,000 was given to three young women as part of the Life Your Dream Education and Training Awards for Women. Brandy Butler, Jaydne Charlton, and Rachel Edvalson were each given $2000. Soroptimist’s Live Your Dream Awards program is a unique education award for women who provide the primary financial support for their families. The Live Your Dream Awards give women the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects.
