249 units of blood were collected during a two-day Community Blood Draw event in La Grande

LA GRANDE – 249 units of blood were collected during a two-day Community Blood Draw event in La Grande this week. According to Linda and Sheldon Strand, La Grande Community blood draw coordinators, they anticipate total collections for 2023 to exceed 1200 units.
In 2022, 1169 units of blood were collected through this group’s blood draw events. Late last year, Jakes Raines, with Red Cross noted that La Grande is the regional top blood draw location.
Organizer thanks everyone who donated and volunteered. The next La Grande Community Blood Draw event is scheduled for September 12th and 13th, 2023.
