EASTERN OREGON – The nomination deadline for the Intermountain Education Service District’s (IMESD) 2025 crystal apple awards is fast approaching. Organized annually, the Crystal Apple Awards recognize outstanding teachers, administrators, and school staff in the IMESD various schools. As written by the IMESD on the Crystal Apple Award information page:
“The purpose of these awards is to recognize outstanding individuals in the education field who are dedicated to the success of our students. Exceptional principals, assistant principals, teachers, classroom assistants, office and school staff in our communities deserve recognition and praise for their hard work in schools each and every day. The Crystal Apple Awards are a way to show appreciation to these individuals.”
Any employee of an IMESD component school district in either Morrow, Umatilla, or Union Counties is eligible for nomination. Nominees may be full-time or part-time, so long as they have at least one cumulative year of service in their respective district. Nominations can be made by fellow school staff, parents or community members.
A second award, the Crystal Apple Leadership Award, is also open for nominations. Replacing the Doug Flat Memorial Leadership Award in 2022, this award is specifically available for administrative leadership such as principals, assistant principals, superintendents, assistant superintendents, and other administrative leaders.
The deadline for nominations is April 1, 2025. The 2025 nomination form can be found here. Additional information on the Crystal Apple Award, including past winners, can also be found here.
