HERMISTON โ (News release from the Umatilla County Fair) The Umatilla County Fair Appreciation Dinner was held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at EOTEC and โA Blue Ribbon Futureโ was announced as the 2024 fair theme.
After providing a post 2023 fair recap and acknowledging all of the County Commissioners, elected officials, the Farm City Pro Rodeo Board and other members in the audience, Emcee Marty Campbell introduced the Umatilla County Fair Board and thanked all of the other volunteers and past volunteers in the audience. He offered a special thanks to the 2023 fair sponsors and recognized Wildhorse Resort & Casino as the Umatilla County Fairโs Title Sponsor since 2007.
As goodbyes were said to the ladies of the outgoing 2023 Fair Court, they crowned the incoming 2024 princesses as returning Court Chaperone Rebecca Manning offered well wishes to them all.
Commissioner Dan Dorran, who serves as liaison to the fair, presented the award to the 2024 Grand Marshall honorees, Mel and Jerrie Keely.
Information was provided on the new barn expansion project headed up by the city of Hermiston, which will break ground this week.
The Fair Board announced a new parade route for the 2024 Umatilla County Fair Kick-Off Parade on Aug. 3rd and included a code on all of the tables for attendees to scan and view the new route and to offer their anonymous feedback. The evening of thanks and recognition concluded with a thank you to Fair Manager Angie McNalley and her staff and temporary staff, and an invitation to the 2024 Umatilla County Fair on Aug. 7-10.
