Law enforcement in Union and Baker Counties were recognized last night during the Annual Law Enforcement Recognition Banquet at the Baker Events Center.
Multiple awards were handed in various categories during this event as seen below.

•Parole and Probation Deputy-of-the-Year: Deputy Rich Kirby, Baker County Sheriff’s Office
•Corrections Officer-of-the-Year: Officer Ryder Willmarth, Department of Corrections, Powder River Correctional Facility
•Greg Walker DUII Enforcement Trooper-of-the-Year: Trooper Cody Bennett, Oregon State Police, Baker City Worksite
•Traffic Safety Trooper-of-the-Year: Trooper Talon Colton, Oregon State Police, Baker City Worksite
•Instructor-of-the-Year: Detective Jesse Webb, Oregon State Police, La Grande Area Command
•Officer-of-the-Year Dedication to Duty: Officer Mark Powell, Baker City Police Department
•Critical Incident Support-of-the-Year: Oregon Department of Transportation, Baker Maintenance Crew
•Community Partner-of-the-Year: Chief Buzz Harper, Keating Rural Fire Protection District
