SALEM – The Oregon Secretary of State’s Office reports that 238 entities are delinquent in filing their financial reports with the state. That includes counties, cities, school districts, special districts, and public corporations controlled by local governments.

Many of those delinquent filers are late for multiple years. However Secretary of State Tobias Read points out that this isn’t as bad as last May when385 of the entities were late. The Municipal Audit Law requires these annual reports be submitted annually and must be performed by a certified public accountant. Smaller entities are allowed to self-report expenditure information.

Among those who have not filed from this area are the city of Hermiston, the city of Helix, the city of Heppner, the Boardman Urban Renewal Agency, the Hermiston Urban Renewal Agency, and the Umatilla River Water Control District.
