PORTLAND โ Two Pendleton organizations and three from Walla Walla County have been awarded grants from the Pacific Power Foundation. The grants are offered through one of four cycles every year. The total of the grants in this cycle is $313,000. Individual grants are generally less than $10,000 and usually between $2,000 and $5,000.
Local recipients are:
Pendleton Childrenโs Center to fund the construction of a roof canopy on the south side of its childcare building.โฏย
Pendleton Little League to repair the netting at two batting cages and help upgrade existing scoreboards.โฏ
Walla Walla Community College Foundation to offer scholarships to underserved students enrolled in STEM-related areas of study.
National Inventors Hall of Fame to support Camp Invention, connecting low-income students with full or partial scholarships for a week-long STEM learning experience.
Tri-State Steelheaders to cover the cost of classroom supplies for the Salmon in School program which provides students with the experience of raising and releasing salmon.
