PENDLETON – The Pendleton School District Board of Directors has announced two applicants to be finalists for the position of superintendent. They are Pendleton School District Human Resources Director Kevin Dinning and Michelle Jensen, a principal in the West Linn-Wilsonville School District.
The board narrowed the selection down from a field of 12 applicants. The consultants vetted the applicants through a variety of reviews and the results saw Dinning and Jensen being selected based on their educational attainment, depth and breadth of experience, and how they align to the priorities of the district. McPherson & Jacobson LLC assisted in the search, including performing background checks on all applicants.
Interviews will be conducted on March 10 with both candidates. Several stakeholder groups will have the opportunity to meet the finalists and submit input to the board. The directors intend to make a decision by the week of March 17.
Superintendent Kevin Headings’ last day on the job is June 30. The new superintendent will begin at the start of the new fiscal year on July 1.
