JOHN DAY – (Release from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office)

On the evening of Monday, February 5th a dispute over an allegedly stolen four-wheeler at 660 West Main, resulted in the arrest of a John Day man.

The victim was reportedly “pistol whipped” with a handgun and struck in the head with a golf club.

The victim was not a party to the original stolen four-wheeler case, but was on scene at the request of the landlord. The victim is recovering from his injuries.

The primary suspect, Robert “Bob” Warrington, 40, was arrested and transported to the Grant County Jail. A search warrant for the residence was served, and the weapons used in the assault were recovered.

Robert Warrington’s brother, Steven Warrington, 34, was also being sought on multiple warrants out of Grant County and turned himself in to the Grant County Jail the following day.

Additional arrests are expected in this incident.

I would like to thank the diligent work of the Deputies at the Grant County Sheriff’s Office for their work on this case, and to the Oregon State Police for the assistance they provided.
