EASTERN OREGON – The Intermountain Education Service District (IMESD), which covers school districts in Union, Baker, Umatilla, and Morrow Counties, has a board vacancy. Long term board Member Dale Bingham, who has served on the IMESD board since well before it merged with the Union/Baker Education Service District in 2011, has finally stepped down. Reflecting on Bingham’s service to the district, IMESD superintendent Mark Mulvihill told Elkhorn Media Group’s Dan Thesman:
“Dale has just been an outstanding board member. He was on the North Powder board for over forty years. He’s just an amazing individual that has given so much to that community.”
With Bingham stepping down in the middle of his term, the IMESD is looking for applicants for board Position 6, which covers the Baker, Union and North Powder school districts. Any citizens that live in either Baker County, the Union School District boundary, or the North Powder School District boundary are eligible to apply. Applications will end in mid-February. Applicants will be interviewed in an open session during the next IMESD board meeting on February 17.
