157 Student-Athletes Make Dean’s List for Winter Term

LA GRANDE – Eastern Oregon University Athletics is once again pleased to announce that the department posted a cumulative grade point average that surpassed 3.0 for the winter term. The Mountaineers finished with a department GPA of 3.341 and had 157 student-athletes make the Dean’s List.
 
To qualify, a student must achieve and maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale while completing a minimum of 12 hours of graded EOU coursework for the duration of the term.
 
Last term EOU student-athletes showcased skill in the classroom and the ability to adapt during the turbulent times of COVID-19. In the fall, 11 of the 15 Mountaineer teams finished with above a 3.0 and had a department GPA of 3.160. This time around, all 15 teams posted a winter term GPA of 3.0 or higher to finish at 3.341.
 
Taking home the highest GPA was the Women’s Basketball team with a 3.704. Volleyball claimed the second highest GPA at 3.682. Rounding out the overall top-three was Men’s Basketball at 3.451. Posting third highest GPA for women’s teams was Softball at 3.416. On the men’s side, Track & Field was the second highest in GPA at 3.440. Men’s Wrestling had the third GPA at 3.434.
