LA GRANDE – Just as law enforcement supports the community, the community often supports law enforcement back. One company, Paul Swigert Country Financial, gave back to their local sheriff’s office in a big way and made one K-9 the happiest police dog this side of the Cascades.

Giving back to law enforcement, Country Financial donated $1,500 dollars to the Union County Sheriff Department’s K-9 unit. According to Sheriff Cody Bowen, the donation will go into the K-9 unit’s general fund and cover any number of expenses for K-9 Molly and her handler, Dane Jensen, such as training, travel and gear. Bowen further commented on the donation and support, stating:

“Over the last couple years, Paul has been a partner with the sheriff’s office as far as donations for the Union County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Program. Those donations that we depend on help with sending the K-9 Deputy to training yearly. There are a couple different trainings that Deputy Jensen goes to. Without the donors, without the support from the community it would be a program that would be really hard to keep going… They’ve been a big part of contributing back to the community, not just with us but with kids, sports, law enforcement. It’s been a big help.”
