JOHN DAY – Lilly Lawson is with the In Our Backyard organization that focuses on stopping human trafficking, as well as spreading awareness. Recently she informed KJDY listeners that trafficking can take place in many settings, including big parties—like Super Bowl parties. She said their efforts in Arizona for this year’s big game event ended up saving at least 13 girls:

“This year they were able to retrieve thirteen young girls that had been in the hands of traffickers—and that’s not the final count. There’s a whole process the victims have to go through. We know we were able to save thirteen and there are more being processed.”
