HERMISTON – Hermiston Police Department detectives continue to investigate an armed robbery that was reported shortly after midnight on Feb. 10 – on the heels of Super Bowl Sunday. So far, one person has been charged related to the crime that took place at the Last Chance Tavern, 240 S.W. 11th St., Hermiston.
Sabrina Talamantes, 29, of Hermiston is in custody facing felony charges of first-degree robbery and first degree aggravated theft from a building. Her bail is set at $1 million.
Police Chief Jason Edmiston says wen officers arrived on the scene they encountered two employees, they were Talamantes and a 54-year-old man who sustained minor injuries during the incident.
“The male victim was sprayed with pepper spray and shot several times with a weapon that discharged plastic/rubber BB projectiles,” Edmiston said. “A large amount of cash was taken by the unknown male assailant.”
Both physical and digital information was gathered. Edmiston said that search warrants were prepared and Talamantes was arrested Friday for her involvement “with the orchestration of the robbery.”
Edmiston said that the investigation is still active and he hopes he will be able to release more information shortly.
