HERMISTON – The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call Saturday afternoon reporting that her sister was threatening her with an axe and had also threatened their mother with a brick in the 200 block of Southwest 11th Street. The caller said Keisha Washington, 27, was exhibiting erratic behavior, possibly influenced by drugs and alcohol.

Due to the nature of the call, an Oregon State Police trooper also responded to the scene to assist the deputy. Upon attempting to place Washington under arrest, UCSO reports she resisted, which resulted in a minor hand injury to the deputy. Law enforcement then took her into custody without further incidents.

Washington faces multiple charges. They include three felonies: attempted unlawful use of a weapon, fourth-degree aggravated assault, and assault of a public safety officer. She is also charged with menacing, reckless endangering, and resisting arrest. Her bail is set at $30,000.
