PENDLETON – The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Leeann Rose Pratt, charging her with first-degree arson, unlawful use of a weapon and other crimes for an incident that occurred in the 45000 block of Adams Road Tuesday.

Capt. Paul Wolverton reported that Pendleton Fire & Ambulance, the Oregon State Police, Umatilla Tribal Emergency Services, and the sheriff’s office responded to the report of a fire in a residence with a child trapped inside. Wolverton said that it was also reported that Pratt had allegedly started the fire and poured gasoline on herself and others.

“The fire was contained by persons at the residence,” Wolverton stated in an email. “Subsequent investigation showed this incident began as a domestic dispute between cohabitants at the residence.”

When Oregon State Police arrived, their trooper stated that Pratt had doused herself in gasoline and was smoking a cigarette. She was taken to St. Anthony Hospital under a police protection order. The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office then mounted a criminal investigation and, as a result, took Pratt into custody on a probation violation. Charges from the incident were added later.

“There were no injuries to Pratt or any of the other parties involved and there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time,” Wolverton said. Pratt’s bail is set at $250,000.
