Walla Walla man arrested on multiple felony charges

WALLA WALLA – (News release from Walla Walla Police Department) On June 5, 2024, Julian D. Saldana, 22, was arrested on several felony charges as a result of an ongoing investigation that started in early April. After his arrest, a search warrant was executed at his residence in the 600 block of East Cherry Street.

The investigation started after police received a report in April that Saldana had sexually assaulted a juvenile. An extensive investigation which included several interviews and search warrants for digital evidence was completed. During the course of the investigation, the juvenile victim reported to Detectives that Saldana threatened them with a firearm after the initial sexual assault report had been made. Probable cause was developed for Saldana’s arrest.

On the morning of June 5, 2024, Saldana was located in the downtown area and taken into custody. A search warrant was executed at Saldana’s residence in the 600 block of East Cherry Street after the arrest was made. Corroborating evidence including the described firearm was recovered from the residence.

Saldana was booked into the Walla Walla County Jail on charges of rape of a child – third degree, rape – second degree, assault – second degree, supplying liquor to a minor, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a dangerous weapon, discharging a laser – second degree, intimidating a witness and bribing a witness. Saldana’s girlfriend, Madison M. Jewett Schaefer was also arrested for assault – second degree and discharging a laser – second degree in connection with Saldana’s charges.
