Walla Walla County Coroner to attend training focused on child deaths

WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla County Coroner Richard Greenwood has been awarded a full scholarship to attend the National Death Scene Investigation Training in Atlanta, April 23-25, hosted by the National Center for Fatality Review and Prevention.

The meeting will specifically highlight sudden unexpected infant death and sudden death in the young, water deaths involving children, disasters involving children, suicide in children, and consumer product-related child deaths.

Attendees are encouraged to take what they learn back to their respective states to share with other medico-legal death investigators.

The Walla Walla County Board of Commissioners is expected to approve Greenwood’s out-of-state travel request as required by county policy and approve any additional time for travel to and from the training, if needed, at today’s (Monday) meeting which begins at 10:15 a.m.
